Are the lessons online only?
Yes. Every lesson takes place by video call. I do not teach in person.
Which time zone do the lessons use?
Geneva time. I teach every day, including weekends, from 11:00 to 19:00 Swiss time. The hours follow the Swiss clock all year, so they stay the same when Switzerland changes to summer time. Evenings after 19:00 are not available.
What does a lesson cost?
A 60-minute lesson costs CHF 50. A pack of 10 lessons costs CHF 450 and is valid for 6 months. The first 30-minute conversation is free.
What happens in the free first conversation?
We talk for 30 minutes by video about your goals, your current level and how you like to learn. We can speak in English or in French, whichever you prefer, and you see how I teach. Afterwards you decide if you want to continue.
Which levels do you teach?
All levels, from complete beginner to advanced.
Can you teach French for my job?
Yes. We work on meetings, emails, calls, presentations and interviews, using your own documents. I worked in administration and facilities at CERN and EFTA, so I know the Geneva international workplace.
Do you prepare students for exams such as DELF or fide?
Not at the moment. The lessons focus on practical French for daily life and work.
How do I pay?
Before the lesson, by bank transfer in CHF or by PayPal. Packs are paid upfront.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give 24 hours notice to move a lesson. A lesson cancelled later counts as taken.
What do I need for the lessons?
A computer, tablet or phone with a camera, a microphone and a stable internet connection. I send the video link when you book.
How fast will I progress?
It depends on your starting level, your goal and how much you practise between lessons. After the first conversation I can give you an honest estimate for your goal.
Are you connected to a language school?
No. This is my own independent business. I also run Geneva Expat Solutions, a resource for people moving to Geneva.
