Private French Geneva

Private French lessons in Geneva, taught online

I am Samuel, a native French speaker from Switzerland. I teach French one to one by video call, on Geneva time, to people who live or work in the Geneva region. All lessons are online.

Who the lessons are for

How it works

  1. Free first conversation. We talk for 30 minutes by video. I ask about your goals, your current level and how you like to learn. We can speak in English or in French, whichever you prefer, and you see how I teach. Then we both decide if we want to work together.
  2. A simple plan. We agree what to work on, how often to meet and which situations matter most to you.
  3. Weekly lessons. 60 minutes, one to one, built around your real life: your emails, your lease, your appointments.
  4. Adjusting as you go. If a topic is going well we move on. If something is hard we stay on it.

French as it is used in Geneva

French in Geneva has its own details. In Swiss French, 70 is septante and 90 is nonante, while Geneva mostly says quatre-vingts for 80. Official letters come from the OCPM, rent goes through a régie, and health insurance is a caisse maladie. Lessons cover the French you actually meet here.
